Volunteer With Us

The Pathways Tasmania Gala Dinner is coming up fast and is now less than two months away. To make this event happen we need a large number of volunteers on the night. The main help we need is for waiting on tables and manning the bar. The wait volunteers will need to:

  • Keep non-alcoholic Beverages topped up
  • Clear dirty glasses back to the kitchen
  • Hand out and collect giving envelopes at the appropriate times on the night
  • Assist with bidding at the live auction

Volunteers will not be required to serve the meals, as these will be served by the caterers.

If you have an RSA certificate we would love you to help us with serving alcoholic beverages.

Why Support Pathways Tasmania?

Pathways Tasmania is partially government funded but there is a significant funding gap which needs to be filled by private fundraising. Our annual Gala Dinner is the biggest contributor to reaching our funding target each year. The work we do at Pathways is split into two main areas, Launch Youth and Velocity Transformations. Launch Youth is a medium term residential accommodation service for homeless young men aged 13 to 21 and helps them to develop life skills and a pathway out of homelessness. Velocity Transformations is a drug and alcohol rehabilitation service for men (and soon women) which helps the participants break their addictions and reintegrates them back into their local community.

2018 Gala Dinner Theme - Open Doors

The theme of our 2018 Gala Dinner is Open Doors. Reflecting on the year gone by, open doors resonates with us. The men (and soon women) who use our services have been pushed down and life has not been easy for them. The services we provide, whether it is to help break addictions through Velocity Transformations or assisting young men to stabilise their lives through Launch Youth, gives them opportunities. Opportunities to finish an education, maintain a job, to support their children, and to discover their purpose. Everyone who uses our services has their own unique story and the doors of opportunity are different for each one of them.

For Pathways Tasmania, we have also seen doors opening. The new women's drug and alcohol rehabilitation program, announced at last years Gala Dinner, is set to open in the next few months and there are other opportunities for Pathways just waiting to come to fruition.
